Girlings is grateful to have enjoyed a full year of business in 2022 and to have largely recovered from the challenges of the pandemic. We thank all our clients for their loyalty during this period. We are also pleased to have supported so many local and national good causes this year, as we do our best to give back to our communities.
Our big project in 2022 was undoubtedly the successful launch in August of a new town centre defibrillator for Sherborne, working closely with the Community Heartbeat Trust. The eleven month £3k project was kick-started with a £500 donation from Girlings and made possible with the support of local businesses and organisations, in particular the Friends of the Yeatman Hospital. Girlings continues to manage the BT Kiosk defibrillator [located outside Sherborne Post Office] and reports weekly to South Western Ambulance Service on its ready status. Read all about it HERE
In September we were delighted to support the WIDEX Charity Gala in London – which raised more than £17,000 for two really worthwhile charities: Claire House Children’s Hospice and The Alzheimer’s Society.
Ian and Dan got on board with MOVEMBER for the first time this year – growing impressive moustaches throughout November and raising much-needed funds for local and national mens’ health charities: Find out more
We continue to collect in our clinics for the Mary Hare School for deaf children and young people, and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance – please just ask us if you would like to make a donation when you next visit.

Supporting Opera in Oborne
Each year in August, St Cuthbert’s Church is transformed into a theatre for a weekend of sublime music. Whilst everything ‘back of house’ is carried out by an enthusiastic crew of villagers, the cast are all international soloists in their own right.
