On 13th June 2026 Girlings was delighted to sponsor the 10th hole at Sherborne Golf Club for an incredible day of charitable golf in aid of the Rendezvous, a vital local youth charity which soon celebrates 30 years and is based just around the corner from our Swan Yard clinic.
The event was organised by Club Captain Matthew Wylie, part of the club’s year-long support of the Rendezvous, a charity supporting young people aged 14-25 in North Dorset and South Somerset who would otherwise fall through the gaps. Local young people are encouraged to take practical steps towards education, work, and a brighter future by rebuilding confidence, improving mental health and providing accredited learning in English and Mathematics – all through one-to-one services which are largely volunteer-provided.
During the 2025 academic year, the Rendezvous helped nearly 200 young people:
- 94 exam modules were passed
- 35 full qualifications achieved
- 50% continued to learn with the charity
- 25% gained qualifications needed to go to college
- 15% found work
- 10% joined an apprenticeship
- 80% made solid academic progress
- 70% felt more confident about their next steps
