In the ever-evolving world of hearing aid technology, Girlings always promises you the latest innovation. Being truly independent, we can recommend and fit instruments from a range of leading manufacturers – including from our long-standing global supplier Oticon.
Oticon has been instrumental in creating the new Bluetooth® LE Audio and Auracast™* technologies for the benefit of hearing aid users and we would like to share more with you about that.
Oticon partners with prominent tech companies including Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). Together they strive to ensure people with Oticon hearing aids can be digitally active and effortlessly connect with what matters most via any current or future device.
Today’s hearing instruments, ready for tomorrow’s technologies
The latest Oticon Zeal™ and Oticon Intent™ hearing aids* feature Bluetooth LE Audio for a better all-round experience than classic Bluetooth. The ‘LE’ stands for Low Energy, offering two-way audio for hands-free calls on Android™ devices and Windows PCs, great audio quality, improved functionality, and seamless connections to more devices. Bluetooth LE Audio is the underlying technology for Auracast*, ensuring you’re ready for future innovation when Auracast* makes it possible to tap into audio from broadcasts in public places.
What is Auracast™?
Auracast™* broadcast audio is bringing a new level of accessibility to hearing aid users. With Bluetooth LE Audio, users can now directly connect to public audio systems like TVs, information screens and live performances, and stream sound straight to their hearing aids. Imagine being at the airport and receiving real-time flight updates directly to your ears. Or effortlessly tuning into the TV at the gym. Whether at sports events, churches, museums, or other public venues, you can simply tap into an Auracast* broadcast and enjoy clear, wireless audio.
As this technology becomes more widely adopted, Auracast* is expected to gradually replace traditional telecoil audio loop systems in public spaces – offering a more seamless and modern listening experience.
Easy LE Adapter
The Easy LE Adapter** ensures that users with Android™ devices and PCs that don’t support LE Audio can still enjoy direct streaming and two-way audio for hands-free calls.
Google Fast Pair™
With Google Fast Pair, connecting Oticon Intent hearing aids to Bluetooth LE Audio devices is fast and easier than ever. Users simply tap to pair. Once connected, devices stay synced across their Google account, making reconnection effortless and enabling a smooth, user-friendly experience every time.
